First Semester 2011/2012 session..

The first semester of the new session started in august with the influx of freshers as usual dominating the day. Hence with the rush hour and everything the association held its very first meeting of the session on the 27th August 2011 at brothers hall1. The meeting was mostly packed with freshers as most stallites had not yet resumed.
The meeting which was presided by the director of culture Bassey Ebenezer due to the stepping down of the then president elect and the absence of the vice president Miss Golfa Lawi.
During the course of the introduction it was noted that the majority of the freshers where either from Kaduna state or Adamawa state beating regulars like Niger and Plateau states.
Over the course of the semester the EXCO's nominated Mr. Jeremiah Bulus as the new president in which the the whole house agreed and also the Staff Advisers.
Thou various activities were scheduled to take place this semester, we could not hold a single one due to the school authorities banning every single association and department from holding any show of any sort pending the approval of their registration by the vice chancellor.
As a result of this, both the freshers night and the suya nites could not hold forcing us to move these highly anticipated events to next semester. Thou we couldn't hold any of such we were able to celebrate the birthdays of some of our own such as Bassey Ebenezer, Moturayo Ayodele, Jeremiah Bulus, Dainel Olatunji to name but a few..
The second semester looks set to be bright with our Daddy, Rev. Larry Ayuba finally back in the country and encouraging us with every step we make. We do pray that all will be well come the second semester and that the suya nite and other activities planned will also be approved.
And as always ZUMUNCI DA CIN GABA!

 The activities of ANSA varies from suya nite to induction/freshers nite to sendforth and end of session dinner...

normally on such occassons we tend to keep alive our cultural upbringing and to make others around us aware of the beauty of being a northern! The ways we do such is by speaking in the local dialect of the Northern Nigerian inhabitants i.e Hausa, and also by preparing delicacies such as Gotei, Tuwo with mia Cooker, Masa, Kunu among others. We also try as much as possible to dress in the native way either by wearing the Kaftan which is commonly associated with people from the north. Others thou do have thier own traditional wears such as the fulani's outfit  or the jalamir worn by the females..
There is also the Gwari's blouse and skirt among others...

Hence with the dawn of a new session at hand, the last president handed over power to the new excos being led by Master Nathan Yabuwat in 400level  in the Dept. of Economics. By his side was the Vice President, Miss Golfa Lawi a 300level Business Administration student.
 Together they were both swore in and handed the baton of power in which they swore to uphold the integrity of the association and keep its good name.
